Inside WOW!house 2025: A Conversation with Cox London & Maison Artefact

Updated: Jun 17

Chris Cox of Cox London and Victoria Davar of Maison Artefact came together to create the dramatic entrance hall at WOW!house 2025 — a space that speaks to artistry, craftsmanship, and storytelling through design. We talked with them to hear about the collaboration, inspiration, and what makes this year's entrance hall so special.

What was the concept behind the entrance hall at WOW!house this year?

The whole idea was to create a space that feels like a collector’s home - layered, evolving, and full of narrative. We wanted to reflect the journey of both the house and its inhabitants over time.

It’s a space where classical forms meet contemporary art. That contrast gives the room its energy - as if the house has evolved with the people who live in it.

How did the collaboration come about between Cox London and Maison Artefact?

Chris: We were incredibly lucky to work with Vicky. She truly pushed the envelope of what we imagined was possible - and then went even further. It's a truly unique experience to work on this project with a good friend - to be able to express our personalities.

The room has a strong vertical presence - tell us about that.

We had the option to raise the height of the room, so we took it up to 5 metres. That allowed for dramatic pieces like our Oak Leaf chandelier, which hangs at 3-3.5 metres. It became the centrepiece - both literally and conceptually.

What are some of the standout pieces in the space?

Beyond the statement Oak Leaf Chandelier, the space is filled with thoughtfully crafted details. The wisteria wall lights, reimagined from existing designs, were tailored specifically for this setting. A centre table, designed collaboratively, mirrors the chandelier above - creating a striking visual dialogue between the two.

The flooring features English reclaimed stone with marble cabochon inlays, complemented by a custom mosaic in our curated colour palette. Every element was chosen with intention - each one telling its own story.

How would you describe the mood of the space?

It’s timeless but bold. It’s a house for collectors, makers, and dreamers — and every element is crafted to reflect that spirit.
